Introducing our new Youth & Family Minister: Aaron Davis

We are pleased to share that God has brought us our new Youth & Family Minister faster than we ever could have dreamed! Aaron Davis is joining St. Timothy’s on Sunday, August 1st after having served Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA as Coordinator of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries from 2017-2021. A North Carolina native, Aaron holds a BA in Religious Studies from North Carolina State University and both a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and Master of Theology (ThM) from Union Presbyterian Seminary. In addition to his parish ministry, he writes in systematic and philosophical theology and is actively involved in leadership positions in the American Academy of Religion – Southeast Region and the Society of Christian Philosophers – Eastern Region. He is the happy husband of Shelby Scattergood and can often be found entertaining their Ragdoll cat, Bumi.

Please join us in giving thanks to God for calling Aaron to us and help us to prepare for a warm welcome. Remember also that we all will continue to have our part to play after Aaron’s arrival to make ministry to youth, children, and their families a success at St. Timothy’s. Whether you’re a Sunday School and EYC veteran or you’ve never taught before, please consider directly supporting this essential ministry by serving as a Sunday School teacher or EYC volunteer.

This ministry was identified as our top priority during the transition. The time is now for each of us individually to put our money, our efforts, our time, and our prayers where our collective mouth was then. Everyone in our congregation has a role in the success of this essential ministry. If you have questions about any of these ministry opportunities or wish to support this effort financially, contact Fr. Paul or our Christian Formation Co-Chairs, Eliza Stephenson and Bryant McCarthy.
