The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are dedicated to sharing the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ by engaging in worship, prayer, study, service and fellowship. Any woman who is  a member of the Episcopal Church automatically belongs to ECW. The extent to which a woman is involved in ECW activity is up to her.

As a longtime women’s ministry within the Episcopal Church, USA, the ECW is structured much as the church is structured. There is a national office, a provincial office (Province IV in the case of North Carolina), and a diocesan office followed by parish “branches.” At all levels, the ECW maintains tight affiliations with the Altar Guild, Church Periodical Club, Church Women United, and United Thank Offering, and related national church organizations also led by women.

Annually, since 1940, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of St. Timothy’s have held a Bake Sale on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The ECW work hard together to make the Bake Sale a success, with the profits being presented to worthy local organizations including the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Hope Station,  to name just a few.

Women and men of the church prepare and line the tables and refrigerators and freezers in Anderson Hall with cakes, pies, cookies, jams, breads, and other home made specialty items.  The biggest seller is the chicken salad, made from a special secret recipe and prepared by the church women. A luncheon, consisting of chicken salad sandwiches, soup, and dessert, is also held.

All church members are invited to use their talents and participate in the
Annual Bake Sale. The camaraderie and fellowship are priceless!
