Did you know that St. Timothy’s has a YouTube channel? You can find it on YouTube as “St. Timothy’s Wilson.” All the videos that support our search for the next rector are found here.
We want to have as many opportunities as possible to connect with one another, especially during this time of social distancing as we maintain our COVID-19 discipline. Vestry Member for Communication Bill Hamilton makes sure our parish Facebook page is continually updated. Those who shared in celebrating Helen Ramalgia’s 92nd birthday last Saturday provided the joy that became video excitement on Facebook. Links for Sunday Worship On Demand are also posted on Facebook and the parish website.
Parishioner Melanie Statnick and I are working to develop a YouTube Live channel for St. Timothy’s. Our immediate goal is to co-host a weekly online video chat that discusses our relationship with God through worship, study, prayer, service (basically all things organized within both The Book of Common Prayer and The Rule of St. Benedict). Please go to the St. Timothy’s YouTube Channel and subscribe. We’d like to have our first live online video chat next week.
St. Timothy’s now has a ZOOM video conferencing account. The Diocese of North Carolina recently required a parish “owned” account if ZOOM is used for online EYC meetings. We’ve had two such EYC meetings with from 10 to 12 of our youth participating. You may have been blessed by The Way of the Cross video from Holy Week that featured the voices of our EYC as they read the prayers. My thanks to Brad Whitley for sitting in on our last ZOOM meeting and providing another adult in the room (a Safe Church practice).
Let me or Parish Administrator Theresa Swain know if your group or committee would like to use the parish ZOOM account for a meeting.
Video conferencing is not the only way to connect. The Wednesday Women’s Bible Study uses ConferenceNow to bring together a telephone conference call. You can load ConferenceNow on your smartphone or find a call-in number from the website.
We are blessed at St. Timothy’s with so many talented people!
The Rev. Dr. William Carl Thomas
