Christian Education is doing!!
Sunday, November 21st is Christ the King Sunday at church. The Pre–K through 5th grade classes will be presenting their “ARMOR OF GOD” during the 10:30 service.
Tuesday, November 23rd, the EYC will have a table at the Bake Sale! We will be selling Heart Pine kindling bundles for $12 dollars a bundle. We will also be selling Anglican Rosaries that were made by our youth for $6 a piece. All money earned will help both the young and older EYC go on a trip or special activity this year.
Sunday, November 28th is the first Sunday in Advent. All classes will be learning about the meaning of Advent as a liturgical season and making advent wreaths with their families during the Celebration hour. The youth will also be reading passages (during the 10:30 service) about each candle that is lit on the advent wreath every Sunday until Christmas.
The Mission Team will be meeting on November 29th at 5:30pm. MARCO VALERA is going to be the youth delegate for the committee.
The Christian Ed is also sponsoring the Wesley Shelter’s Angel Tree again this Christmas. There are 77 babies to shop for this year. Please be sure to pick up an ornament from the tree in the Common Room and return the present to the church office by November 30th. If you have questions please call Liz Carter, 291-8220 ext.22
The Celebration classes and the EYC collected, decorated and filled 27 shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child Project this year. Liz Carter will be taking the boxes to the drop off site on November 21st. If you would still like to make a cash donation to the OCC or fill and decorate a shoebox, please do so before Sunday November 21st. So that the gifts can be delivered in time for Christmas!
The Christian Education Committee will meet on Tuesday, December 7 at 12 o’clock noon in Anderson Hall.
We are still interested in splitting the junior and senior high youth into two classes on Sunday morning. Unfortunately this can not be done without more teachers. Please volunteer your time as a Sunday School Teacher so that the Junior High can have their own class. They would really love to have their own class!
The Christmas Pageant is coming up soon. We will need parent volunteers to help with preparations and during practices. Look out for flyers in the mail about this! Any youth who would like to participate in any way, please cal Liz Carter (291-8220 ext. 22) or tell your Sunday School teacher to sign you up! There will be more information posted later!
